Friday News Links

A few stories you may or may not have seen this week:

What did you do for the 4th of July? Donald Trump Jr. doesn’t think liberals should celebrate. Twitter responded...

Apparently the House of Representatives has a "no sleeveless" dress code for women. In the summer. In Washington, D.C.

On the 4th, NPR Tweeted out the Declaration of Independence line by line. "Trump backers (seemingly unaware of the source document) accused the media organization of playing partisan politics and attacking the president." One Twitter poster responded that perhaps NPR should tweet out War of the Worlds next.

I'm sure you already saw New Jersey Governor Chris Christie on the beach that he closed to everyone else...

The Republican party asked for Obamacare "horror stories" on Twitter. They did not get what they expected.

A FDA-registered food safety laboratory tested iconic American food for residues of the weed killer glyphosate (aka Monsanto’s Roundup) and found ALARMING amounts. (Although, this article reads a whole lot like click bait, so proceed with caution.)

For those who think racism is over in the U.S.: Black Mississippi student forced to share valedictorian title with white student who had lower GPA.

Another in the "I'm sure you've already seen" file: Why join the National Rifle Association? To defeat "our" enemies. The enemies in question... are Barack Obama, Hollywood award shows, school teachers and liberals with the temerity to criticize our government.

And a little bit of fun for the week:
